Project Summary

The McDonalds needed their breakroom to be fixed and painted. The walls needed a lot of patching with drywall – holes from pins, tape ripping off the paint and drywall, and even a fist sized hole – and then a good coat of paint. The hole was large enough that I had to cut and put in a patch, and I filled in all the other scrapes and holes. After sanding and another coat, I gave a coat of primer and then two coats of paint. The large spot of no paint is where a large scheduling board goes, so I was to leave that. I also removed an old and inactive vent switch, and put on new covers for outlets to make it all look nice.

Project Challenges

Someone before me had starting to patch the holes with a pre-mixed filler, and tried to fix the large hole by putting in paper towels and putting putty over it. Needless to say, it all had to come out, which took a lot more time. Fixing things always takes longer than doing it right the first time. Dust control was also key, as the room connected to the kitchen. A sheet covering the entrance kept it all in.
